Stap es, What a name!

STAP ES

Here is a copy of the letter I sent to Stap es (formerly known as Staples) re: their latest slogan.

Dear Stap es,
I’m sorry I can’t say your full name anymore.  I guess you like it better that way.  Your last slogan removed the much needed “L” to let people know you provide the staples of business.  My three girls thought you provided the staples for school supplies, too.

But with your latest slogan:  Stap es  What the L is going on?, I’m not sure I want my girls going to a store they aren’t even allowed to say its slogan.

I know your marketers thought it would be clever, even catchy.  And sadly, maybe it is.  However, I don’t appreciate the sly use of cursing you’ve created.

I really don’t want to start a boycott of your store.  I would ask you kindly, however, to add the “L” back in your name.  Please remove the new slogan and save your name.

Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold.”

Thank you for your consideration.
